When the sun rises many birds make their morning call but nothing compares to the thrill of hearing the first gobble of the season. Turkey hunting requires a combination of skill, patience, and strategy.

Know the Basics: Understand the behavior and habits of wild turkeys. Learn about their mating rituals, nesting areas, roosting spots, and feeding patterns. This knowledge will help you anticipate their movements and plan your hunt accordingly.

Scout the Area: Before the hunting season begins, spend time scouting the hunting area. Look for turkey signs such as tracks, feathers, scratchings, and droppings. Identify roosting trees, feeding areas, and travel routes frequented by turkeys.

Use Decoys: Decoys can be effective in attracting turkeys within shooting range. Place realistic-looking decoys in strategic locations to lure in curious birds. Use decoys that mimic the posture and appearance of a turkey in various stages of activity (feeding, breeding, etc.).
