A recent article in The Atlantic notes that in 2017, 15 percent of couples planning to “get hitched” chose a farm or ranch for the event, and flocked to local barns throughout the nation for receptions that combine both rustic and upscale elements. 

It’s a trend that continues to grow in popularity, according to online wedding authority. The Knot, a popular digital magazine and wedding planner, insists that traditional venues are losing their appeal. In the search for personal expression, meaningful individuality and trendy themes, what has become known as “rustic chic” is at the top of the list.
